gap seals

Joe.....Are gap seals effective on my 85 champ? How much help are they.? I know nothing about them. While I'm at it, when I close the cowl, the plug wire just hits it. Can I buy shorter plugs.? This would be the front plug only on each side.

I used a Kabota some years back. It was a small one (compared to a full tractor type.) It was a deisel and it was a mowing fool. It mowed alot of grass at the airport and is still going!
