Re: Fabricating Wing Position Light Bracket

Does anyone know if Charles is willing to sell a set of these bracket's or if anyone out there may have a set of these brackets laying around they would like to sell. I am forming the bow's for my prewar Chief project and need to find a set. The one's that Spruce have I don't believe would work with...

Re: Wanted to buy: Grimes Model A Tail Light

Dik, Yes there does seem to be Grimes model "B" wingtip lights (which I need also) on Ebay from time to time, but I have never, ever seen a tail light model "A". Most likely they do and I just miss it. Actually Spruce had these a while back (read $$$$$) and they might still have one laying around th...

Wanted to buy: Grimes Model A Tail Light

The top of my rudder post on my 1940 Chief is missing something, a clear Grimes Model "A" nav-light. I know these are getting hard to find, etc.. but maybe some other Aeronca-ian' has one of these he just does not know what to do with. This would mount right in the top of the tail post on a prewar C...

Re: Pre-War Chief Pulley's and Cable size

Paul,

Thanks, yes that would work also.
I will try to get some pictures up here soon to document the progress (or lack thereof).

Re: Pre-War Chief Pulley's and Cable size

Todd Trainor to the rescue! I emailed Todd and got his quick reply, thought I would include it here for everyone's benefit. The existing 3/32-inch cables utilize the AN210-2A pulleys which cannot be used with the larger 1/8-inch cables. These pulleys are used in the six places: 4 in the wings and 2 ...

Pre-War Chief Pulley's and Cable size

I looked back on the Fearless Aeronca Aviators site and this one. There was seems to be an old AD 43-18-1 on changing out control cables on prewar Chief's to 1/8". They were original 3/32 on prewars. My old cables are 1/8" which is fine, but I would like to replace them and the pulley's also. The Pu...

Re: New Project 1940 65-LB

Cool, Thanks Al
I will have to fly down sometime and look the LB over. I am just starting to look this one over and got the CD on it from the FAA. Lot's of 337's and lots of whacks over the years.

New Project 1940 65-LB

Just got a pile of parts delivered to me over the weekend. It is a 1940 65 LB Chief (converted to continental). I will have to post some photos in the near future. Like most projects, it is missing some parts. The short list so far is ailerons, drag/anti-drag wires, and the trim tab.Lift struts are ...
