Re: Prop balance stand

Good info. I've used a balance stand in the past, for the purpose of equalizing the weight between the blades, when blending out nicks. Before dynamic balance was available for less than the purchase price of a new 182. The purpose of building this stand, and hangin' th' prop in it, was to convince ...

Re: Prop balance stand

Thanx for the answers ya'll. Here's what I decided to do. This morning I dropped off th' prop at Sensenich, and they'll gimme a call when it's done. This prop has had nothing done to it other than dressing a few nicks since 1969, so no wonder it's outta balance. But I also found that the balance rig...

Re: McCauley MCM 6950 Prop on C-85

Does anyone have a field approval for installing a McCauley MCM 6950 propeller on a C-85 engine with the O-200 upgrade? The MCM 6950 prop was used on Cessna 150 O-200's. I am seeking suppporting data to obtain a field approval for using this prop on my Champ. This prop is approved for use with the ...

Prop balance stand

This is not exactly Aeronca related, but mabe it is. I recently built a balance stand as My C-150 has a nasty vibration which is clearly comming from th' prop. Well, here's what I got: (many thanx to Ian for his most excellent work on the cones.) Now on to the interesting stuff. The balancing jig wo...

I use an old set of H10-30 DCs and other than needing the ear seals replaced, they work just great.

I would think that your "owners manuel" would need to be updated with the information pertinent to the installation of the O-200.
New W&B, Operating limitations, etc.

Sonoco racing fuel has no alcohol.
But 100LL is cheaper.
And less expensive for 100LL than to buy at the boat dock.

Re: long term gas test

A few months ago I purchased a new lawnmower from Tractor Supply. It's placarded against the use of fuel containing more than 10% alc. An the warrenty will be void if >10% is used. I think that a lot of the reason for the alc prohibition is due to two things. #1- increased propensity for vaporlock, ...

Re: T-Hangers

As to a "T" hanger I agree with everyone else here Lot's of wasted room for the same cost as square. You might look into adding 40 or 50 feet to your existing building. but it you want free standing, I'd go with a Pole barn, about 40x60 or so, they are inexpensive to build, and will get your airplan...
