Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

I was told today, 28 Apr 16, that this plane is for sale. I was told it had been flying recently but needed work. I'm not personally in touch with the new owner, the son of the former owner, so can't tell you how to contact him. You can try Brian Ostwinkle at Monticello Airport, Iowa, or the FAA dat...

Re: New measures to help with spammers on the bulletin board

Am I ever going to be permitted to post without my messages being individually reviewed by the moderator? Sometimes that takes weeks. I have never posted anything that is problematic. This is a nice forum, but when it comes renewal time I'm wondering if I should bother. A main purpose of being in a ...

Re: DeRegistration of Aeroncas

My airplane was deregistered after an accident, repaired and re-registered before I bought it. I could pass on the name of the A&P if it helpful.

Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

I have been told anecdotally that the plane is still in annual and was flown in 2013, bit I do not know that of my own knowledge. If I hear anything, I'll pass it on.

Re: A65-8 Oil Rod

I appreciate the valuable information. Sorry to be so dense, but can someone suggest a source and part number of a cap for mine A65? The ears are simply not salvageable. Or, maybe someone can suggest how to buy or make a new set of ears?
Thanks

A65-8 Oil Rod

The oil cap ears are broken off so the oil cap does not secure as well as it should on the oil tube of the sump. In addition, I suspect the oil rod is the wrong one. When I looked at the TCM specs, they have two different papers with two different call-outs for the oil rod (what I call the dip stick...

Re: leaking carburetor

Larry,

Are there any airports in Sigourney? There used to be two a few years ago, but I haven't noticed any recently. I fly off my farm near Iowa City.

Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

Sheldon Kongable of Winfield, IA, owner of one of 5 7JC in the FAA data base, died in March of this year. I don't know the condition of the plane. He was older and hadn't flown in years. I have not heard of the disposition of the airplane.

Re: "Hangars are no place for building airplanes...":

ANY other activity apart from storing an airplane is illegal; you can't repair. You can't build. You can't use tools or equipment in there. Nothing except park your airplane in there and do some flight planning on the specifically allowed desk. They say nothing about a chair, so be careful! Final a...

Re: "Hangars are no place for building airplanes...":

This topic has generated a lot of strong reaction from those who want to build their airplanes in a hangar rather than in their garage or other rented facility. Our airport went through this controversy a few years ago. We had people subletting their hangar to persons who stored their RV and boat. T...

Does anyone have a copy of the STC so that one could read it before deciding whether or not to buy it?
